Rules and Gear Details
Mandatory Gear for UTMD (100 km)
  • Pack destined to transport obligatory equipment throughout the race.
  • Water supply of water of 1 liter minimum
  • 2 torches in good working order with spare cells/batteries for each torch. Recommendation : 200 lumens or more for the main torch
  • Survival blanket of 1.40m x 2m minimum
  • Whistle
  • Self-adhesive elasticated bandage which can serve as a bandage or strapping (minimum 100 cm x 6 cm)
  • Food reserve. Recommendation: 800kcal (2 gels + 2 energizing bars each of 65g ).
  • Jacket with hood which will withstand bad weather in the mountains and made with a waterproof and breathable membrane (e.g. Gore-Tex)
  • Race Bib (provided by race organizer)
  • Personal cup or tumbler
  • Long-legged trousers or race leggings  OR a combination of legging and socks which cover the legs completely
  • Cap or bandana
  • Additional warm second layer : a warm second layer top with long sleeves (cotton excluded)

  • Pack destined to transport obligatory equipment throughout the race.
  • Water supply of 1 liter minimum
  • 2 torches in good working order with spare cells/batteries for each torch. Recommendation : 200 lumens or more for the main torch
  • Survival blanket of 1.40m x 2m minimum
  • Whistle

There will be random gear checks during the event and if you are missing any item you will incur a penalty which may range from a time penalty to disqualification, depending on the severity of the breach.

  • Extra clothing/shoes
  • Extra pair of socks
  • Sunglasses
  • Sun block or Sun Screen
  • Trekking poles
  • Extra Adhesive elastic band for making a bandage or a strapping
  • Replacement Headlamps / torches batteries

Dress Code in Iran

Men

  • Shorts are not acceptable in public places.
  • T-shirts are acceptable.

Women

  • Obeying Islamic rules including Hijab or Islamic dress-code.
  • Colour: No need for dark wear in Iran.
  • Head: Hair should be covered. You can also use hats / caps together with a scarf.
  • Body: Should be covered with loose clothes like man shirt, coat or manteau. Arms should not be bare.
  • Legs & feet: Legs should be covered down to ankles. Feet can be bare. Sandals and tight jeans are OK.
